Amy Morris is an award winning animation and film producer. She specialises in creating access to the film and animation sector by providing opportunities for writer/directors and animators to direct their first commercial films. In 2020 Amy was BAFTA shortlisted and BAFTA Cymru nominated for her work on Welsh animated comedy Creepy Pasta Salad. In 2021, Cwch Deilen was officially selected to screen at Tribeca and received a special commendation at the Iris Prize. She is currently working with two first time animation directors to produce animated short films for the festival market and 8 writer/directors to produce short films for BBC broadcast.
Work
Amy has produced 60+ short animated films and 18+ live action shorts, 12 of those for broadcast. She has worked in both drama and documentary and has worked with multiple animation directors including BAFTA Cymru winners Jane Hubbard and Gerald Conn, BAFTA shortlisted Lauren Orme, and Royal Television Society award winner Efa Blosse-Mason future animation great James Nutting.
In 2011 She founded not-for-profit animation studio, Winding Snake Productions, where she is currently the managing director.
In 2017, Amy became program director for The Women’s Film Club at the WOW Film Festival, a cinema project that screens f-rated films, for women-only audiences in Wales and Scotland.
In 2020 she began working with Ffilm Cymru Wales as their Ffolio Programme Manager, before becoming Community Manager on the Foot in the Door scheme.
On her current role as First Break Project Manager with Screen Skills sees her working on HETV shows Lost Boys & Fairies and The Way.
